Driver was killed on the LBJ Freeway on Sunday

DALLAS — A truck driver was killed early Sunday morning on the LBJ Freeway after being struck by a car, police said.

According to police, they were called to the crash on eastbound LBJ Freeway and Miller Road around 2:45 a.m. According to reports, the driver of the tractor-trailer was traveling east on 635 and crashed into a retaining wall. After getting out of the truck, he was hit by a car.

The driver of the car that hit the victim remained at the scene, police said. The victim was taken to a hospital by Dallas Fire Rescue but died before arrival.

The victim had not been identified as of Sunday evening, pending notification of next of kin.

The investigation is ongoing.
