What do the Atlanta Braves trades from last offseason look like now?

Trade #4

Speaking of Kowar, the right-hander was part of an Atlanta/Seattle trade in December that sent three different players to the Braves, the most important of which was current outfielder Jarred Kelenic. In 28 games with Atlanta so far, Kelenic is hitting .286/.337/.377 with one HR and six RBI.

As for Atlanta’s additional return, neither Gonzales nor White would appear in a game with the organization, with both also being traded later. (we’ll talk about this later too).

In return, the main piece of Seattle’s deal was Phillips, who was among the Braves’ top prospects at the time of the trade. Phillips is now the Mariners’ No. 18 prospect according to MLB Pipeline, but has not pitched this season due to injury.

Alongside Phillips, the Mariners also received the aforementioned Kowar, as previously mentioned. However, Kowar also did not pitch this season due to injury.

Trade #5

Atlanta’s next trade came just two days later, as the Braves sent the aforementioned Gonzales to the Pirates for cash. The veteran left-hander has made just three starts with Pittsburgh so far in 2024, owning a 2.65 ERA And 11:5 K:BB ratio on 17 IPs.

Trade #6

Atlanta’s next multi-player deal occurred in mid-December, when the club acquired catcher Max Stassi and infielder David Fletcher from the Los Angeles Angels. However, only one of those players has seen action in the Braves organization so far this season, Fletcher, who slashed .250/.222/.250 with two RBIs in five games in Atlanta, as well as .262/.337/.286 with 13 RBI and three SB over 21 games in Triple-A Gwinnett.

In return, Los Angeles received two players, the first of which was the aforementioned White. White has only appeared in two games for the Angels this season so far, in which he is 0-for-2.

The Angels also received a minor league pitcher in Thomas, who has made 10 relief appearances thus far in the Triple-A Los Angeles organization. Thomas has a 1.65 ERA And 11:3 K:BB ratio on 16.1 IP during this period.

Trade #7

As previously mentioned, Stassi never appeared in a game with the Braves organization, as the club later traded the catcher to the Chicago White Sox. Stassi has only appeared in five games so far this season with Triple-A Charlotte in the Chicago organization, cutting .091/.375/.091 with an RBI.
