Sean “Diddy” Combs files motion to dismiss “decades-old” Jane Doe sexual assault lawsuit

Combs has previously denied all claims in ongoing sexual assault lawsuits against him

Sean “Diddy” Combs’ lawyers have filed a motion to dismiss a lawsuit accusing him of sexual assault.

The request comes five months after the 54-year-old music mogul, former Bad Boy Entertainment president Harve Pierre, and another person described as a “third attacker” were tried by a woman named Jane Doe in U.S. District Court for were sued in the Southern District of New York.

In the December 2023 filing, the individuals were accused of sex trafficking and gang raping Doe when she was 17 years old. Combs has previously denied all claims in his ongoing sexual assault lawsuits.

According to court documents filed on Friday, May 10, and obtained by PEOPLE, Combs’ attorneys claim this is Doe’s “second attempt to make a completely false and vile allegation against the Combs defendants.”

The motion points out that the plaintiff used a “trigger warning” in its pleadings as “legally irrelevant” and claims that it was a “stunt” intended to highlight a meritless and time-barred lawsuit, which was intended to cause “unwanted publicity, embarrassment, and financial cost” to the Combs defendants.”

“Mr. Combs and his companies categorically deny plaintiff’s decades-old allegation against them, which has already caused incalculable harm to the reputation and business of the Combs defendants even before any evidence has been presented,” the motion states.

The filing further argues that Doe “cannot assert on what day or time of year the alleged incident occurred” and requests that the case “be dismissed now, subject to the Combs defendants’ prosecution.” “To protect our reputation from further damage and before further party and judicial resources are available.” will be wasted.”

As previously reported by PEOPLE, the accuser alleges in her lawsuit that she was administered drugs and alcohol before being subjected to “vicious gang rapes” “one by one” after she was persuaded to take a private jet to Combs’ recording studio in Fly New York City.

Jane Doe’s attorney, Douglas H. Wigdor, previously said in a statement, “The depravity of these heinous acts has unsurprisingly left our client with lifelong scars.” PEOPLE has reached out to Wigdor for comment on the new filing.

The rapper has been accused of sexual assault several times in recent months. In November 2023, Cassie, whom he dated on and off from 2007 to 2018, accused him of raping and abusing her over the course of their decades-long relationship.

Although the lawsuit was settled a day later, Combs was soon accused of sexual assault in a second lawsuit by a woman named Joi Dickerson-Neal. He was accused of drugging and raping her in 1991 while she was a student at Syracuse University.

On the same day, Combs was accused of sexual assault by a third woman, a separate Jane Doe. She alleged that Combs and singer-songwriter Aaron Hall took turns raping her and a friend more than 30 years ago in New York City.

In February, Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones, a former producer and videographer, filed a lawsuit alleging that Combs sexually harassed, drugged and threatened him during their time together.
