Drugs, pistol magazine found during probation search in southwest Bakersfield, two people arrested

Two people were arrested after officers allegedly found meth, evidence of drug sales and a handgun magazine during a probation search in southwest Bakersfield.

The Kern County Coroner’s Office said on May 8, 2024, deputies from the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, Gang Suppression Unit completed an investigation and probation search in the 5200 block of Cedarbrook Lane.

KCSO said during the investigation, officers allegedly found approximately a quarter pound of methamphetamine, evidence of drug sales, ammunition and an extended pistol magazine.

David Murphy, 48, and Ricky Blay, 53, were arrested on multiple felony charges and booked into the Kern County Jail.
