Toddler apparently dies in accident after being found unconscious in neighbor’s pool

A toddler has died after being found unconscious in a neighbor’s pool. Authorities believe it was a tragic accident.

The incident occurred early Saturday evening in the 3400 block of Brackenfern Road in the Katy area. Harris County officials determined that a male toddler was found unconscious in his family’s neighbor’s pool.

A family gathering was taking place at the toddler’s family home. Officials believe the child found an opening in a fence to get into the neighbor’s pool. After the toddler was found unconscious, he was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

Less than two hours after his initial report, Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez confirmed that the child had died on X.
