Houston Texans 2024 season tickets sold out

All 32 National Football League teams took the plunge into the COVID darkness in the spring of 2020, unsure of what the near future held, but most of those teams knew that once the pandemic was behind us, things would return to normal. The Houston Texans, unfortunately, were not one of those teams.

It was around the time COVID hit in March 2020, with the decision to trade DeAndre Hopkins, one of a series of dumb moves made by two-headed GMs Bill O’Brien and Jack Easterby (the COVID of two-headed GM pairs), that it was abundantly clear that we were entering a dark period for Texas football, pandemic or not.

Most other teams emerged from the pandemic and business resumed as usual. The Texans emerged from the pandemic with David Culley as head coach, Deshaun Watson being sued by two dozen massage therapists, and Jack Easterby with more power than most historical dictators. Needless to say, it was not a scenario most Houstonians were willing to support, with their time, energy, or money.

What was once a waiting list for season tickets has been reduced to nothing, and the Houston Texans ticket office has morphed into a de facto customer service department, fielding hundreds of complaints a week. Those were some pretty dark years, to be sure. We don’t need to go through that again, step by step. It’s over, thank goodness.

We’ve known the dark times are over for a while now. That’s the energy we’re feeling from DeMeco Ryans and CJ Stroud. That’s what the light side of the Force looks like in the Star Wars movies. However, we got financial validation Tuesday morning when the Texans announced, for the first time since 2019, that their 2024 season ticket pool is sold out!

“Our fans are at the heart of everything we do, and we feel their energy and anticipation for the 2024 season,” said Texans Chairman and CEO Cal McNair. “It’s been an extremely exciting offseason for us, including the launch of our new look, and we just want to thank our fans for all their support. We’re proud to have sold out season tickets and can’t wait for H-Town to come together to cheer on Coach Ryans and the team. We want all of our fans to come out early and be loud every week we take the field at NRG Stadium.”

The Texans have also launched a new “2025 Priority List” for fans interested in becoming season ticket holders. Individuals will be able to register online to be added to the “2025 Priority List” and will be contacted first when tickets become available along with other additional benefits.

It’s a remarkable turnaround by any measure. The hope now, on the part of team executives, is that interest in season tickets will translate into early arrivals in those seats. The Texans are doing everything they can to get fans into the stadium early to create a true home-field advantage. Having the seats filled, with mostly Texans fans, at some point during the game is a good start.

Fans still have the option to purchase single-game tickets and group tickets to Texans home games at HoustonTexans.com, Ticketmaster.com and the NRG Stadium box office.
