Jersey City police investigate early morning shooting on Dwight Street

A shooting early Monday morning in Jersey City left a male victim with a gunshot wound, prompting police to investigate. Nino'sAccording to preliminary information, officers were initially called to the scene after gunshots were reported near the intersection of Dwight Street and Ocean Avenue around 2:45 a.m.

When police arrived, they found the victim with a gunshot wound to the groin area. He was immediately taken to Jersey City Medical Center, where he is reportedly in stable condition.

The circumstances leading to the shooting are still unclear and detectives are actively investigating the motive for the attack.

The suspect responsible for the shooting fled the scene and is still at large.

So far, no arrests have been made in connection with this incident and no further injuries have been reported.

Jersey City Police are asking anyone with information to come forward to assist in the ongoing investigation.
