A press release from the Jupiter Police Department stated that Michael W. Wiseman was arrested for sending written death threats.

He was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Palm Beach County Jail, according to Jupiter Police Major Don Hennessy.

Wiseman was in custody Friday evening, a prison employee confirmed. The employee said she had no information on whether Wiseman had an attorney she could contact for comment on his behalf.

Investigators said Wiseman made several written threats on Facebook against Trump and Vance, who were nominated this week as Republican presidential and vice presidential candidates, respectively. Police said threats “of physical harm” were also made against members of the Trump and Vance families.

Several people informed local police personally and online about the posts, police said.

Jupiter is located about 20 miles north of Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home in Palm Beach.

The investigation was conducted in coordination with the U.S. Secret Service and the Palm Beach County District Attorney’s Office, police said.
