Vallejo police investigate fatal shooting of 16-year-old boy | State

VALLEJO, California — A 16-year-old boy was shot and killed on Carolina Street late Wednesday night, Vallejo police said.

Officers from the Vallejo Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to a 911 call about a shooting on July 17, 2024 at approximately 11:33 p.m. Upon arrival, they found the juvenile with at least one gunshot wound and provided medical aid until paramedics arrived. Despite their efforts, the boy was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Vallejo Police Department’s Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation, and the motive and circumstances of the shooting remain under investigation, according to a department press release.

This incident marks the 12th homicide in Vallejo in 2024.
