Oklahoma City police launch homicide investigation after woman’s body found in southeast Oklahoma City

A woman’s body was discovered outside a Walgreens store on the corner of Southeast 44th Street and South Shields Boulevard. Oklahoma City police had little information about the woman who was found.

OKC Police Captain Michelle Henderson said a passerby discovered a woman’s body in the drive-thru of this Walgreens late Thursday afternoon. When investigators arrived, they found injuries on the woman’s body. OKCPD called the Homicide Unit, which began to piece together the events.

The section of Walgreens where the body was found is not in operation, so it is unclear how long the body had been there. As of Thursday evening, the woman’s identity is unknown, and law enforcement officials had no suspects.

“We don’t know who she is right now,” Henderson said. “We’re working on it. We’re working on suspects, we’re doing our investigation here at the crime scene. Things are very preliminary right now.”

Investigators checked cameras and interviewed people in the area for possible clues. Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at 405-235-7300 or toll-free at 1-800-632-TIPS.
