Driver dead after accident on Route 20 in Wilbraham

WILBRAHAM, Mass. (WWLP) – One person died in a crash on Route 20 in Wilbraham Wednesday evening.

According to Wilbraham Police, officers were called to the intersection of Main Street and Boston Road (Route 20) around 8:33 p.m. for a two-car crash.


Officers rendered immediate medical aid to the injured passengers; one driver was taken to Baystate Wing Hospital in Palmer, where he was later pronounced dead.

A portion of Route 20 was temporarily closed to allow for an investigation by the Wilbraham Police Detective Bureau, the Hampden District Attorney’s Office and the Massachusetts State Police. The road reopened around 1 a.m. Thursday.
