BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A 33-year-old man with no permanent address was sentenced Friday to two to four years in prison in connection with a series of burglaries that occurred between December 2022 and August 2023, the Erie County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Authorities said Javarius Bumpers stole a victim’s vehicle from a gas station parking lot on Dec. 19, 2022, on East Lovejoy Street. He was taken into custody and released on a court appearance.

On Feb. 20, 2023, Bumpers threw an object to break the front window of a grocery store in the 900 block of Broadway, authorities said. He stole backpacks and candy from the store and was arrested the next day. On Feb. 12, he was arraigned in Buffalo City Court and released on bail.

Bumpers stole a vehicle from a car dealership on March 24, 2023, on Walden Avenue in Cheektowaga. He was arraigned in Cheektowaga Municipal Court and held on $10,000 bail. On March 31, he stole merchandise from a convenience store on Wehrle Drive in Amherst.

Buffalo police responded to a burglary on April 6, 2023, in the 1700 block of Broadway. Bumpers had broken a window to gain entry to the store and was found a short time later with a bag containing merchandise from the store, authorities said.

Bumpers stole merchandise from a store on Aug. 2, 2023, in the 1100 block of Genesee Street. He was arrested and arraigned later that day and was held on bail set at $2,500 cash or surety.
