NOPD seeks additional information in ongoing murder investigation

The NOPD is seeking additional information as part of its ongoing investigation into a homicide that occurred on February 11, 2024 in the 1900 block of Jourdan Avenue.

On February 11 at approximately 7:03 p.m., officers from the NOPD Fifth District responded to a 911 call at the scene. Upon arrival, officers found an unresponsive adult black male with no visible signs of injury. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene and the death was ruled unidentified. However, after further investigation, the Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office ruled the death a homicide by firearm.

On February 14, 2024, the Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 32-year-old Robert Singleton and determined the cause of death was gunshot wounds.

On March 29, the NOPD arrested Kyana Traylor for first-degree murder in connection with this incident.

Investigators continue to investigate this incident and ask that anyone with further information please come forward and speak with them.

All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
