One of the suspects who killed police dog Kenzo will be sentenced on Wednesday

TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – One of the men arrested for murder K-9 Kenzo from the Pima County Sheriff’s Department last year has reached a deal in this case and will be sentenced on Wednesday, July 17.

Cody Dillon Bartlett faces a prison sentence of between three and a half and six years for armed robbery and obstructing a working or service animal.

Bartlett and Juan Tacho were arrested after Kenzo died near Fort Lowell and Alvernon on October 27, 2023. The PCSD said the suspects were committing an armed robbery in the area and Kenzo was dispatched to track them down when he was killed.

Taco had already pleaded guilty to armed robbery earlier this year and was sentenced to 30 months in prison.
