Investigation of a semi-trailer accident in Fort Myers

Police are investigating an overnight crash involving a semi-truck in Fort Myers. The crash occurred around 10:40 p.m. Thursday on SR-82 at Colonial Boulevard. According to NBC2 crews on the scene, police found one of the passengers lying under a bench 1,000 feet from the crash scene. He was reportedly questioned and taken to the hospital. Police are investigating a nighttime accident involving a semi-trailer truck in Fort Myers.

The accident occurred around 10:40 p.m. Thursday on SR-82 at Colonial Boulevard.

According to NBC2 crews on the scene, police found one of the passengers lying under a bench 300 meters from the crash site.

He was reportedly interrogated and taken to hospital.

Firefighters cleared debris and oil residue from the road.

The road was reopened around 5 a.m.
