Keeping an eye on the heat this weekend

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – We’re giving you a FIRST WARNING for the intense heat expected this weekend! Temperatures will climb to the high 90s to near 100s by early next week. Rain chances are limited…but as humidity levels slowly increase this weekend, chances of scattered to isolated rain and thunderstorms will increase again.

Today, skies will be mostly sunny. Highs will reach 35 degrees Celsius with a light northerly wind of around 8 km/h. Scattered showers are possible during the day, but most of the time it will remain dry. Despite the heat, heat index values ​​will not be excessively high due to slightly lower humidity. Lows will be 21 degrees Celsius with mostly clear skies.

It’s going to be hot this weekend! Temperatures will reach 38 degrees on both Saturday and Sunday. Highs will be above 35 degrees on both days, with a mix of sun and clouds. The wind will be calm this weekend, adding to the expected heat.

There is a chance of isolated showers on Saturday, but humidity will slowly increase. There will then be enough moisture in the atmosphere to cause some isolated showers and thunderstorms on Sunday.

Lowest temperatures overnight over the weekend will be mild between 25 and 25 degrees Celsius with partly to mostly clear skies.

The heat will continue into early next week…highs of over 35 degrees and in some places almost 38 degrees are expected on both Monday and Tuesday. Each day will see a mix of sun and clouds.

Early next week, the humidity factor will be a little higher, allowing for scattered to isolated showers and thunderstorms. This also means that heat index values ​​will likely rise to 38 to 40 degrees.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible midweek and next week as the region’s border is expected to approach. Temperatures will remain around 35 degrees from Wednesday through the end of next week, with lows at night of around 21 degrees. Each day will see sun and clouds during the day and partly cloudy skies at night.
