Fireworks accident in Florence County leaves ‘severe trauma’ to hand

FLORENCE COUNTY (WLUK) — A man suffered “severe trauma” to his hand in a fireworks accident in Florence County on Friday.

At around 8:30 p.m., the Florence County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting injuries sustained in an accident related to the use of fireworks.

Officers went to the West Bass Lake campground and provided first aid to a 46-year-old man who “suffered serious injuries to his hand.”

According to officials, he was taken by ambulance to Marshfield Medical Center – Dickinson Hospital in Iron Mountain, Michigan.
