DMV suspends Walk-In Wednesday starting next week due to heat | News

Due to the heat, the Nevada DMV will temporarily suspend “Walk-In Wednesday” services in several cities, including Reno, starting next week.

The DMV says that starting July 10, 2024, Wednesday services will be offered by appointment only until temperatures return to more normal levels. At that point, walk-in Wednesdays will resume.

To accommodate clients who normally come on Wednesdays, the four Las Vegas offices will open their books for Wednesday appointments only on Tuesday afternoons.

The DMV is offering certain services – such as issuing movement permits, paying off debts, and some ID card services – without an appointment. These services will remain unchanged and continue.

The DMV’s “Walk-In Wednesdays” began in 2023 and allow customers to visit a major metropolitan branch on Wednesdays without making an appointment in advance – instead, customers scan QR codes at the branch to join a virtual queue that controls traffic inside the branch.
