Hot, humid with some storms – 104.5 WOKV

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Action News Jax’s First Alert Weather team is tracking isolated storms inland this afternoon and into the evening. These storms are severe where they occur, producing localized, brief flooding and frequent lightning.

Tuesday through Independence Day on Thursday will be seasonally hot, with some afternoon thunderstorms, mostly inland. Highs are expected to be between 32 and 35 degrees.

It will be even hotter on Friday and Saturday with maximum temperatures between 35 and 40 degrees Celsius as the storms become more isolated.

The strong Hurricane Beryl is moving west-northwest across the Caribbean, but will not have any local impact.

AT THE MOMENT: Sunny on the beaches…isolated storms inland west of I-95 with temperatures in the 90s.

THE TROPICS: (1) Strong Hurricane Bertha will continue to move across the Caribbean this week, near Jamaica by Wednesday and Yucatan by Friday – no local impact. (2) A tropical wave may gradually develop over the Eastern Atlantic while moving W/NW … (3) Former Tropical Storm Chris has dissipated inland over Mexico.
