Man crashes stolen car into tree near I-20 after speeding from cops – WSB-TV Channel 2

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — An Atlanta man crashed a stolen car into a tree off Interstate 20 after officers said he drove away from them.

Just after 9:40 a.m., Cobb County police responded to a single-car crash on westbound I-20 near Riverside Parkway.

An investigation determined that a Fulton County police officer attempted to pull over Jamal Muhammad, 26, of Atlanta. Instead, police said, Muhammad began speeding and driving onto westbound I-20 the wrong way.

Muhammad lost control of his car near Riverside Parkway and then struck a tree.

Muhammad was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The accident remains under investigation by police.
