Punjab Assembly witnesses protests after suspension of 11 opposition members

The opposition protested after the Speaker of the Punjab Parliament on Saturday revoked the membership of 11 members of the opposition party’s Sunni Ittehad Council for creating unrest and chaos during the budget session and disrespecting the sanctity of the House.

A large police presence was deployed to prevent the suspended opposition members from entering the assembly.

Members of the PML-N party and its allies were allowed to enter the Punjab Assembly.

The session of the Punjab Assembly could not begin at the scheduled time.
