Teenager: 17-year-old teenager locked up and raped by three men | Chennai News

Chennai: A 17-year-old girl, who had eloped with a man she had befriended through social media, was raped by the man and his two friends in Tiruvannamalai. While the girl was rescued from a locked house in Tiruvannamalai, the three men are on the run. Police said the girl went missing last week and her parents had lodged a complaint with the police. A missing person complaint was registered and investigations were launched. After analyzing CCTV footage of the girl’s mobile phone, she was traced to a house in Tiruvannamalai. A special team rushed to the house and she was rescued. During investigation, the girl told police that the man said he loved her and convinced her to accompany him to Tiruvannamalai with the promise of marrying her there. However, he and his two friends raped her in Tiruvannamalai. When she raised an alarm, the three locked her up and fled the house. Based on the girl’s statement, the Anna Nagar All Women Police registered a case under the Pocso Act and started an investigation. Special teams were formed to nab the trio.
