Attorney General: Russian aggression killed 546 children and injured 1,330 during the all-out war

According to official Ukrainian statistics, Russian aggression has killed 546 children and injured 1,330 since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine began in February 2022. The Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office reported these figures via the messaging app Telegram.

More than 1,876 children in Ukraine have been affected by Russia’s massive armed aggression. As of the morning of May 9, 2024, official data from the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office indicates that 546 children were killed and over 1,330 sustained injuries of varying severity.“, says the report.

According to the Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office, juvenile prosecutors report the most affected children in the following oblasts: Donetsk with 530, Kharkiv with 365, Kherson with 150, Dnipropetrovsk with 137, Kiev with 130, Zaporizhia with 108 and Mykolaiv with 104.

The public prosecutor’s office reports the latest cases:

  • On May 8th: Four children were injured in Russian shelling in Kharkiv Oblast: an eight-year-old girl, two 14-year-old boys and a 15-year-old boy.
  • On May 7th: In Nikopol, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, a 6-year-old girl was injured by enemy fire.
  • On May 6th: Two teenagers aged 15 and 14 were injured during enemy shelling in Uhroidy, Sumy Oblast.
  • On May 6th: A 16-year-old girl was injured by shelling by the Russian army in Borova, Izium district, Kharkiv Oblast.
