Police need the public’s help in solving a murder

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) – El Paso Police responded to reports of a car crash in a northeast El Paso neighborhood on April 29, 2023.

Officers arrived in the 5900 block of Ameen and found Daniel Antonio Mergil suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to a local hospital where he later died. Investigators believe Mergil was shot near a U-Haul warehouse in Ameen.

According to the police report, surveillance video showed a black car fleeing the area. Police describe it as having chrome rims and door handles.
