Person dies in fire accident in North Carolina after collision with power pole

FAYETTEVILLE, NC (WNCN) — One person was killed Sunday morning when a vehicle struck a power pole and caught fire, according to Fayetteville Police.

At 4:10 a.m. on Sunday, officers from the Fayetteville Police Department’s traffic unit responded to the Murchison Road area for a traffic accident.


Preliminary investigations revealed that a vehicle was travelling south on Murchison Road when it struck a pole and caught fire.

Police said the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s identity is being withheld until family members have been notified.
