Police: 1 dead in shooting in northeast Fort Wayne

Just before 5 a.m. on June 16, officers responded to a shooting in northeast Fort Wayne.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Officials on the scene investigating a shooting in northeast Fort Wayne confirmed to WANE 15 that at least one person is dead.

Shortly before 5 a.m., officers from the Fort Wayne Police Department and Allen County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to the 6000 block of Melan Cove for a report of a shooting.
