One dead in accident near Delmont | Community

DELMONT – A 19-year-old man died in a car crash near Delmont in Charles Mix County Friday morning.

According to the South Dakota Department of Public Safety, preliminary information indicates that the driver of a 2012 Ford Escape was traveling southbound on 401st Avenue near 290th Street approximately five miles south of Delmont. For an unknown reason, the vehicle left the roadway at 7:16 a.m., skidded across a farm driveway and overturned, ejecting the driver, who was found dead at the scene.
