North Texas police investigate shooting after officer shoots woman – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

North Richland Hills police are investigating a shooting after an officer shot a woman on Tuesday.

According to police, police were called around 11:38 a.m. to a person in distress who was “out of control” in the 4200 block of Rufe Snow Drive.

When officers arrived, they saw a woman breaking items in the parking lot before returning to her apartment.

Officers attempted to make contact with the woman by knocking on the door as she came through the front door and threatened an officer with a knife as they approached him.

The officer fired his service weapon and hit the woman.

The woman was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition.

No officers were injured in the incident.

The officer involved was placed on paid administrative leave pending the completion of the investigation.
