Man from Semmes involved in shooting in West Mobile: Police

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — A Semmes man is accused of Shooting in which two people were injured over the weekend, according to the Mobile Police Department.

News 5 learned that 20-year-old Gerald Cornell Williams Jr. was located, arrested and taken to Metro Jail on Monday.

Officers responded to a reported shooting in the area of ​​Schillinger Road S. and Fordham Road on Saturday, June 8, at approximately 4:50 p.m.

When officers arrived, they learned that two men had been shot and their injuries were not life-threatening.

The investigation revealed that the two were driving south on Schillinger Road when the driver of another vehicle they knew fired shots in their direction and hit them.

According to police, Williams is now charged with two counts of first-degree assault and shooting at an occupied vehicle.

He is scheduled to appear in court for a bail hearing on Wednesday.
