ID’s documentary series Peace on set: The dark side of children’s television gets to the bottom of the dark allegations against former Nickelodeon dialogue coach Brian Peck.

The four-part series, which premiered on March 17, features interviews with former cast members and staff as they discuss the alleged harmful and abusive behavior that took place behind the scenes of their hit shows.

Among them is Drake and Josh Star Drake Bell, who claims Peck repeatedly abused him as a child.

In 2004, Peck pleaded no contest to a charge of oral sex with a minor under 16 years of age and a charge of lewd acts with a 14- or 15-year-old in Bell’s case.

Peck spent 16 months in prison and was required to register as a sex offender.

While the documentary series examines Peck’s past at Nickelodeon and the allegations against him, here’s everything you need to know about his current whereabouts.

Peck began his career in the entertainment industry as an actor and appeared in films in the 1980s, including Return of the living dead and the successful sitcom Growing painswhere he acted as a body double for Alan Thicke. After his appearance as “Pickle Boy” in All thatHe was hired as a dialogue trainer and worked with Nickelodeon on various projects.

In the early 1990s he appeared in various children’s programs as an actor and dialogue coach, including Life and I, Kenan and Kel, The Amanda Show And What I like About You.

In addition to his work in television, he continued to work on well-known films in the early 2000s, including as an acting teacher for Holes with Shia LaBeouf and a dialogue coach for Love destroys starring Amanda Bynes.

Why was Brian Peck arrested?

On August 19, 2003, Peck was arrested on 11 counts, including lewd acts with a minor, according to a Los Angeles Police Department press release. At the time, police said the investigation into Peck began two weeks earlier when “the minor’s family reported that Peck had abused the child over a six-month period.”

The LAPD said the “lewd acts with the minor occurred approximately two years ago in Peck’s apartment” while he was training her, but did not name the victim; it was later determined to be Bell.

In 2004, Peck pleaded no contest to two of the 11 charges, including oral sex with a minor under 16 and lewd acts with a 14- or 15-year-old. He was later sentenced to 16 months in prison and required to register as a sex offender.

The documentary reveals that several well-known actors, including James Marsden and Life and I Stars Rider Strong and Will Friedle wrote letters of support for Peck during the sentencing. It is not clear how much about the charges those who spoke in Peck’s favor at the time knew.

Marsden, Strong and Friedle did not immediately respond to a request for comment from PEOPLE, but Strong and Friedle previously spoke on their podcast about the letters and their appearances at the sentencing. Pod meets world.

During the podcast episode, Friedle said that Peck “insinuated” his life and turned it “against the victim” by misrepresenting the prosecution. He added that looking back, he believes he was sitting “on the wrong side of everything” in the courtroom.

Where is Brian Peck now?

After serving his sentence, Peck was released from prison in 2005. A year later, he was hired by the Disney Channel to work on Hotel Zack & Cody starring Dylan and Cole Sprouse, where he worked as a voiceover for three episodes but had no interaction with the cast or crew on set, per diversityThe outlet reports that he was immediately fired after Disney Channel learned of his conviction and that his voice actors were replaced.

Even after quitting Disney Channel Hotel Zack & Cody In 2006, Peck continued to appear in various projects, including in 2008 in Good night stories2015 Freaks of nature and the 2012 series Aggression managementaccording to his IMDb page. His last role was in 2018 for a miniseries titled Animal Showdown.

According to TMZ, he now lives in Los Angeles, California.
