Toyota recalls more than 100,000 trucks and Lexus SUVs due to foreign objects in the engine – 95.5 WSB

Toyota is recalling around 102,000 trucks and Lexus vehicles in the United States because of dirt in the engine that could potentially cause the engine to stall, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said on Tuesday.

The recall includes some Toyota Tundra pickup trucks and Lexus LX600 SUVs with the V35A six-cylinder engine.

Deposits from the manufacturing process could contaminate the engine and cause main bearing failure, the company said, which NHTSA said could lead to engine stalling and loss of power.

According to NHTSA, a cure is currently being worked on.

Owners of Toyota and Lexus vehicles can check their Vehicle Identification Number on either the Toyota or Lexus recall page.
