SPOKANE, Wash. – A 22-year-old Spokane woman was killed when a tornado ripped through Toluca, Mexico, on Thursday, May 23.

According to GoFundMe, Lexi Thorp visited her fiancé in Mexico to find out which country they would prefer to live in after the wedding.

Lexi was traveling with her fiancé’s brother when a tornado hit unexpectedly. The tornado caused a brick wall to collapse on them both, killing them instantly.

“Lexi was a fun, outgoing and beautiful soul,” the GoFundMe page said. “Lexi was generous, kind and free-spirited. Lexi made it her mission to share her kind nature with everyone she met. Her smile and laughter were infectious and she brightened the lives of everyone who knew her. We will miss her forever.”

According to her father, Lexi was brought back to Spokane and a memorial service will be held in the next few weeks to honor her life.
