Man and woman arrested after breaking into a shop two days apart, police say – KION546

HOLLISTER, Calif. (KION-TV) – Hollister police have arrested two people just two days apart after they broke into a commercial property.

Officers said the investigation began on May 29 when they were called to a burglary report in the 1100 block of East Park Street.

Investigators said two suspects managed to enter the store’s storage area and take some items.

On Friday, officers were called to the same businesses, where the same suspects broke into the storage unit and stole valuables with an estimated value of $1,000.

Police reviewed surveillance footage from the area and identified the suspects in connection with the break-ins as 44-year-old Osvaldo Vergara and 57-year-old Katherine Branch.

Investigators arrested Vergara, 44, in the 800 block of East Street, while Branch was arrested in the San Benito County riverbed.

Vergara and Branch were booked into the San Benito County Jail on multiple counts of burglary and grand theft.
