Two dead and two injured in shooting at street festival in Rock Hill: Police

ROCK HILL, SC (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Two people were killed and two others injured in a shooting in Rock Hill late Saturday night, according to Rock Hill police.

On Saturday, June 1, around 10 p.m., officers responded to the 900 block of Southland Drive after hearing gunshots near a neighborhood street festival.


When they arrived, they found a 44-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man with gunshot wounds. Both were pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.

A third victim, a 25-year-old woman, was also found at the scene with a gunshot wound. She was treated at the scene by emergency medical services. A short time later, a 24-year-old man arrived at a local medical center with a minor gunshot wound that he said he sustained on Southland Drive.

Traffic was diverted following the shooting late Saturday night, police said.
