FORECAST DISCUSSION:

Sunday will start calm and partly cloudy. It will get colder as the day progresses. Temperatures will reach the mid-30s. Winds will be from the south at 10-15 mph. There will be changes in the weather in the late afternoon. There is a slight risk of severe weather in central Ohio, but the risk is increased south and west of the city.

There will be two main storms. The first will pass through in the late afternoon. The second will arrive late Sunday evening and early Monday (Memorial Day).

The greatest danger from these storms is strong, damaging winds. There is also a small chance of heavy hail and isolated flooding. There is an isolated risk of tornadoes, but it is very low, even in the central Ohio counties that are at this heightened risk.

Once the severe threat passes, general rain showers and thunderstorms will continue into the morning hours of Memorial Day Monday. Highs on Monday will be just above 25 degrees. There will be a few more isolated showers during the first half of next week, then plenty of sunshine will return by Thursday. That sunshine will last until the first day of June.
