ORANGE – A verbal argument escalated into a physical altercation and led to the stabbing of a man and the arrest of a woman earlier this week.

Orange police were called to a disturbance in the 500 block of Camelia Avenue around 10:50 a.m. Thursday.

At the scene, officers learned that a verbal argument had occurred between a man and a woman who had children together, said Captain Jonathan Baggett.

A physical altercation ensued and police said the woman allegedly stabbed the man.

The woman was arrested on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and domestic violence. She is identified as Adore Dorsey, 32.

The man, whose name was not disclosed, suffered a non-life-threatening stab wound to his upper body in the shoulder and chest area.

He was taken to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont by Acadian Ambulance and later medically evaluated, Baggett said.
