2-year-old ‘breathing and awake’ after near-drowning in Chandler

PHOENIX – Firefighters were called to an accident in Chandler on Saturday that nearly caused a 2-year-old girl to drown.

When they arrived at the scene, the child was “conscious, breathing and alert,” according to officials.

Her family performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation before the fire department arrived.

She was taken to hospital for further examination as a precautionary measure.
