Police search for clues after elderly man attacked and seriously injured by burglar at Clarion County home

MADISON TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Police are seeking information after an elderly local man was attacked and seriously injured by an unknown intruder at his Madison Township residence.

According to Clarion-based State Police, troopers responded to a residence in Madison Township, Clarion County, at approximately 8:25 a.m. on Tuesday, May 21, for a report of an assault in progress.

According to police, the victim was located by emergency services and it was determined that he had suffered serious physical injuries.

According to the police, investigations determined that one or more unknown perpetrators had violently entered the victim’s apartment the night before and attacked him.

The victim is a 78-year-old man.

The investigation is still ongoing.
