Coroner identifies motorcyclist killed in crash on eastbound I-26

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – A crash Saturday night on eastbound I-26 left a motorcyclist dead.

Charleston County Coroner Bobbi Jo O’Neal identified the victim as 48-year-old Quincy Poaches of Charleston.

Charleston Police Department (CPD) officers responded to a fatal single-vehicle crash on I-26 near mile marker 219 and urged people to avoid the area.

Coroner O’Neal said Poaches died at the scene as a result of the accident at approximately 5:26 p.m.

Charleston police are investigating.
