22-year-old man found shot to death in stairwell in Prince George’s County

TEMPLE HILLS, Md – Homicide detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Sunday evening in Temple Hills. The victim is 22-year-old Louis Smith Jr. of Greenbelt. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.

On May 5, 2024, at approximately 11:20 p.m., officers responded to the 2600 block of Southern Avenue for a report of a shooting. When they arrived at the scene, they found Smith in a stairwell suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators are working to determine a motive and identify one or more suspects.
