This is the fifth WLWT news today leading the way. Good morning and thank you for joining us for Flying Pig Weekend this Saturday morning at 5:00 p.m. WE ARE VERY EXCITED. I’M TIFFANY WILSON HERE WITH METEOROLOGIST KATIE DONOVAN. AS YOU MENTIONED, WE HAD A FEW ROUNDS OF RAIN. Therefore, the timing of these storms or showers will be important. YES. You know, and it’s going to be really difficult to pinpoint exactly where and when these occur. But as today progresses I think the chances of further isolated rain will increase. Even a few thunderstorms. HOLMES, RACE DAY TOMORROW, SEES MOSTLY DRY IN THE MORNING, SO WE’LL BE KEEPING THE THUMBS HERE FOR THE FORECAST AS WE GO THROUGH THE NEXT 24 HOURS. RIGHT NOW OUR RADAR SHOWS SOME RAIN SHOWERS TO THE NORTH AND EAST OF 275, MOSTLY LIGHT TO MODERATE RAINFALL, AND THAT WILL BE AROUND HIGHLAND COUNTY. AS YOU GO A LITTLE FURTHER TOWARD THE 275 LOOP THERE IS A LOT OF SPRAY, BUT YOU CAN SEE LITTLE SUNSET AROUND LEESBURG, GENERAL LIGHT TO MODERATE RAIN AS YOU GO HERE INTO THE EASTERN PART OF THE COUNTY. HILLSBORO AND SOME LIGHT RAIN SHOWERS. MARSHALL ALSO SEEING SOME LIGHT SHOWERS. NEW MARKET RECEIVES SOME LIGHT SHOWERS AND SPRINGS. IT SPRAYS HERE IN BATAVIA AND STONE LAKE AMELIA SOUTHWEST OF NEW RICHMOND. We are seeing a little irrigation activity in the areas surrounding Lebanon north of 71 Wayneville. Even around SYCAMORE and MASON we have a few very isolated light showers this morning. I would say more sprinkles for locations throughout Warren County right now. The overall picture shows predominantly dry skies in the west. BUT WHAT WILL HAPPEN HERE? We’ll see how things shake out in the next few hours. And I’m thinking particularly of that afternoon. So we’re calling it hit and miss through the morning, with scattered showers and even a few thunderstorms more likely in the second half of the day. Temperatures are currently in the average to high 60s, so it’s a very warm morning. THIS IS THE CASE IN MOST PLACES AROUND THE 275 LOOP 65 TO 66. IN CINCINNATI. WE ALSO HAVE A LITTLE FOG THIS MORNING. IT’S NOT TIGHT BUT TODAY’S 12 HOUR FORECAST WILL SHOW THE RAIN SYMBOL ALL DAY. AGAIN. IT WILL NOT BE A COMPLETE WASH TODAY, BUT WE WILL HAVE TIMES OF SHOWERS AND EVEN TIMES WITH A FEW THUNDERSTORMS. WE WILL TALK ABOUT THESE EVENTS AS SATURDAY REMAINS FOR THE FLYING PIG. WE’LL ALSO LOOK AT YOUR DERBY FORECAST. TIFFANY KATIE. THANK YOU VERY MUCH. We move forward with breaking news. TWO PEOPLE ARE INJURED AFTER A DOUBLE SHOOTING IN SHARONVILLE OVERNIGHT. It happened just after 1:30 this morning on East Sharon Road near Canal Road. And police tell us two people were shot, one victim was taken to UC Medical Center and another was taken to CINCINNATI CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL. ALWAYS THEIR CONDITIONS ARE UNKNOWN AND THERE IS NO WORD YET ABOUT A SUSPECT. Well, the Flying Pig weekend continues today after an incredible start last night, kicking off the 50 WEST ONE MILE RUN and as runners crossed the finish line, their loved ones were waiting to celebrate with them. FOR MANY RUNNERS IT’S JUST THE BEGINNING. You will also take part in the five km marathon, the half marathon or even the full marathon. IT’S AN UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCE, ESPECIALLY FOR COLERAIN HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR LILY DIEBOLD, WHO RUNNED THE ONE MILE BEFORE STARTING FOR THE PROM. The race was also a success for 102-year-old runner Mike Freeman. We met both of them at the finish line. OH IT WAS GREAT. IT WAS SO MUCH FUN. Our teachers were out there cheering us on and so many people were like, “Congratulations, I can do it at 102, you can do it at 150.” I hope he still does it at 150. INCREDIBLE. We’re told he ran full marathons in Fremont until he was 92 years old. From start line to finish, Pig WLWT will now be out and about all weekend covering it all. WE HAVE A FULL DAY OF RACING TODAY, WITH THE 10K RUN STARTING AT 7 AM, THE 5K RUN AT 9 AM AND OTHER RUNS FOR KIDS AND PETS LIKE THE FIRST WATCH FLYING PIGLET AT TEN OR THE PIG ABILITY RUN AT 12pm AND THEN THE HALF MARATHON AND THE FULL MARATHON. They start tomorrow morning at 6:30 am. LIVE. LIVE HERE ON WLWT. Remember that WLWT is your home for the Flying Pig Marathon. YOU CAN SCAN THE QR CODE ON YOUR SCREEN TO GO TO OUR FULL RACE GUIDE. We’ll tell you where to park, which streets to avoid, and which runners to keep an eye on from the start line to the finish line. AND YOU CAN ALSO FIND THIS GUIDE ON OUR WEBSITE WLWT DOT COM 505 IN NOW IN ADULT NO CHARGE IS CHARGED FOR HAVE COMMUNICATED WITH A STUDENT TO PLAN A MASS SHOOTING AT MARIEMONT HIGH SCHOOL. Police initially believed he posed a significant threat, but the evidence says otherwise. WLWT NEWS FIVE’S RACHEL HERXHEIMER HAS THE LATEST. It was a conspiracy to wreak havoc at Mariemont High School, and the adult co-conspirator in the plan will not be charged. This comes from an investigation that led to the arrest of a 14-year-old student in February for allegedly planning a mass shooting. The teenager, whom the prosecutor’s office called AB, is accused of texting an adult and asking him for help in carrying out this attack. PROSECUTOR MELISSA POWERS SAYS THEY RECORDED A HIT LIST OF STUDENTS, A TEACHER AND DISTURBING SMS MESSAGES WITH A 36-YEAR-OLD IN COLORADO. THEY SAY THE TEENAGER WEARED THE MAN WHILE THEY PLAYED VIDEO GAMES ONLINE. The FBI seized this adult’s phone and electronic devices as investigators even traveled to Colorado to interview this individual and found that they had neither the means nor the ability to participate in teenage Abby’s scheme. THEY SAY THE ADULT ALSO LIVES IN A LIVING ROOM IN COLORADO WHILE COMMUNICATING WITH THE TEENAGER. INVESTIGATORS DISCOVERED THAT THIS PERSON HAS BEEN A WARD OF THE STATE SINCE THE AGE OF 18, ALSO DUE TO COGNITIVE PROBLEMS. HAMILTON COUNTY PROSECUTOR MELISSA POWERS SAID IN A STATEMENT ON THE JUVENILE LAWSUIT, QUOTE: NOTHING ABOUT TODAY’S DECISION WILL CHANGE THE TERRIBLE AND TERRIFYING NATURE OF WHAT HE HAS BEEN INTENDED TO DO. It is still my intention to pursue this matter as far as justice requires. THAT WAS RACHEL HERXHEIMER REPORTING. Now the teenager has been locked up since his arrest in February. His defense lawyers called for his release. JUDGE KERRI BLOOM SAID SHE WILL VISIT T. AGAIN
