Amsterdam man arrested for two robberies in Saratoga County

BALLSTON SPA, NY (NEWS10) – An Amsterdam man has been convicted in connection with two robberies in Saratoga County. The district attorney’s office said Daniel McKay, 41, will serve between three and 11 years in prison.

In January, he pleaded guilty to robbery and grand larceny. He admitted entering a Ben & Jerry’s in Saratoga Springs and a Stewart’s Shop in Malta in September.

McKay claimed he had a gun and demanded cash before running away. He was arrested later the same day.

Nobody was injured. Protective orders were issued for employees at both stores.
