Hollywood police search for hit-and-run that left man dead – NBC 6 South Florida

Hollywood police are searching for the driver who hit a man and left him dead Thursday night.

Rafael Volweider was crossing the street trying to catch a bus home when someone hit him at Stirling Road and Sarazen Drive, investigators said.

Officers tried to save his life, but he died.

Investigators believe the car that hit Volweider was a white 2016 to 2018 Chevy Malibu that had damage to the passenger side, a missing fog light on the passenger side and a missing part of the front bumper having.

Hollywood police reminded drivers that if they ever hit someone with their vehicle, the right thing to do is to stop, render aid, call 911 and help the person. Leaving the scene of a hit-and-run is still a felony.
