Police say second man arrested for fatal shooting outside community center | News

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — A second suspect in a fatal shooting near a community center in Memphis has been arrested.

Ta Marius Barron, 19, was charged with two counts of first-degree murder and reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon.

The violent crime occurred on the evening of April 2 on Merton Street near the Hollywood Community Center when first responders found Troy Cunningham fatally injured by a gunshot upon their arrival.

According to witness statements and video surveillance, investigators learned that several men confronted Cunningham and argued over a gun in his possession, police said.

Cunningham was shot as he ran away from others who were trying to get his gun, police said.

One of the men involved, Jarrius Hibbler, 19, was arrested and charged on April 17.

According to police, Barron was the second man involved in the man’s murder.
