Friday morning house fire in Peoria’s East Bluff is under investigation

PEORIA, Ill. – A fire in Peoria’s East Bluff early Friday morning is under investigation.

Peoria Fire Department arrived at the home between Archer and McClure near Wisconsin Avenue just after 4:30 a.m. to find heavy smoke coming from a one-story garage.

They then discovered a fire in the kitchen area and its contents ablaze and were able to bring the fire under control within ten minutes.

When firefighters arrived, the home’s only occupant was outside the home and a puppy was found in the kitchen. The Red Cross was commissioned to accommodate the person.

An arson investigator and the department’s fire dog were called in to investigate.

There was fire and smoke damage throughout the home, estimated to be around $40,000.

There were no injuries.
