Infant found dead: Father admits throwing child away, mother hospitalized

The father of the infant found dead in the Vravrona region of Attica admitted throwing the child into a trash can.

According to sources, the man claimed to authorities that the child was stillborn, stating: “I didn’t kill the child, it was stillborn.” I threw it away because I was afraid of being charged with murder. I panicked, I didn’t know what to do.”

He claimed the head injury occurred during disposal.

The infant’s mother is being treated under guard at Alexandra Hospital.

The man is arrested at the local police station.

Police found the infant’s body in a plastic bag in a large dumpster at the local landfill. The discovery comes as part of an investigation into a couple who allegedly dumped the child in a trash can.

The child, believed to be around five months old, is scheduled to be examined by a coroner next Monday.

The woman reportedly went to Alexandra Hospital in Athens on Thursday evening with heavy bleeding. Initial assessments indicate the possibility of a miscarriage for the 30-year-old woman from Nepal, with her 30-year-old partner suspected of having disposed of the body.

Police conducted a search at a hotel in Vravrona and found traces of bloodstains in the couple’s room, including the toilet bowl and bed linen.
