Pedestrian hit and killed on DuSable Lake Shore Drive near Hyde Park

A man died when he was struck by a car in a traffic situation on DuSable Lake Shore Drive early Saturday, police said.

The unidentified man wandered into the roadway around 1 a.m. and was struck by a northbound Toyota Prius in the area of ​​4500 South DuSable Lake Shore Drive near Hyde Park, police said.

He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

No one else was injured. The Chicago Police Department’s Major Accidents Unit is investigating the incident.
