Braves unveil 2025 MLB All-Star Game logo

“We’ve been looking forward to this moment and this opportunity since we started planning Truist Park and The Battery more than 10 years ago,” Braves president and general manager Derek Schiller told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “When we think about everything we’ve done with Truist Park and The Battery, we’re obviously very proud of it and we want to showcase it for the world to see. We’re finally going to have that opportunity in about a year. It’s a tremendous opportunity and we couldn’t be more excited about it.”

According to Major League Baseball, the logo design is meant to showcase the Braves and The Battery. According to MLB, “the zone’s architecture and custom typography inspired by the Braves’ script pay homage to their iconic brand. All of these elements come together in a modern and dynamic way, bursting out from a star, representing the stars who will take the stage this July.”

Next year’s All-Star Game will be played on July 15. A fitting date for Braves icon Henry “Hank” Aaron, given that the date is July 15. Aaron, of course, set the all-time home run record with No. 715.

“This city and this region are built to host major sporting events,” said Dan Corso, president of the Atlanta Sports Council. “We are the best city in America to host these events and we have the opportunity to prove it once again. I am so excited for the Atlanta Braves, Cobb County and metro Atlanta to have this stadium back.”

The party has already begun. The Battery was invaded by people celebrating Braves alumni in the parade that preceded the pregame festivities.

“The crowd response has been great overall, but baseball fans especially know what an All-Star Game means and what it represents,” Schiller said. “You have the best players in the entire sport, from all over the world, coming to your stadium. Our fans recognize that. They see the different events that go into this game. They get the idea that they can experience it here in their backyard, watching their favorite team, coming to their favorite stadium. And also, I think our fans share the pride that we have in the experience that they get here. You have people coming here and experiencing The Battery and telling all their friends about it. Now you can really showcase it and it’s like, ‘I told you so. I told you this was the best experience in all of sports.’”

The game is significant for the Braves after losing the game and the activities surrounding it three years ago. Atlanta was scheduled to host the 2021 game, but it was canceled in April, three months before it was to be played, due to changes in Georgia’s voting rights law. Denver hosted the game instead.

In November, MLB announced that the 2025 All-Star Game would be held in Atlanta.

This will be the third time Atlanta has hosted the event and the first at Truist Park, the home of the Braves since 2017. Truist Park and The Battery would seem perfect to host such an extravaganza.

“These major sporting events are becoming bigger and bigger than just the day of competition,” Corso said. “It’s fan events and side events that happen throughout the weekend. All-Star is now a four-day event, so it goes beyond what happens inside the park. So having the Battery be the home of All-Star is great because there’s so much going on here and opportunities to show fans who come from all over the country what a great community this is. It’s a community in itself and it fits in perfectly because it’s a great fan experience.”

Atlanta Stadium previously hosted the 1972 game, in which the Braves’ Hank Aaron hit a two-run home run in a 4-3 National League victory. Turner Field hosted the 2000 Midsummer Classic, in which American League MVP Derek Jeter went a league-leading 3 in 3 games en route to a 6-3 victory for the visiting team.

The parade included 19 former Braves players who will serve as ambassadors throughout the game. They include Bruce Benedict, Paul Byrd, Johnny Estrada, Glenn Hubbard, Tim Hudson, Brian Jordan, Andruw Jones, Chipper Jones, Jair Jurrjens, Ryan Klesko, Kevin Millwood, Leo Mazzone, Dale Murphy, Terry Pendleton, Gerald Perry, Ron Reed, John Smoltz, Jonny Venters and Mark Wohlers.

All-Star merchandise is now available, and fans leaving the stadium after Monday’s game received an official poster.

The 2025 All-Star Game is one of several major sporting events that will take place in Atlanta in the near future. The city will host the College Football Playoff championship game — the first of the 12-team playoff era — in January 2025. It will also host FIFA World Cup games in 2026.

“It’s going to be a hell of a race,” Corso said.
