Good Samaritan rescues four people from the water, but one is missing after boat sinks

The U.S. Coast Guard said five people were on board the tugboat when it capsized in eastern Harris County. Four people were rescued and are in stable condition, but one is still missing.

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — Authorities are searching for a person missing after a tugboat capsized in eastern Harris County waters Friday afternoon.

According to the U.S. Coast Guard, five people were on board the tugboat when it capsized in the area of ​​the 16500 block of Peninsula Boulevard near San Jacinto Boulevard shortly before 3 p.m.

Four of five people were rescued from the water and their condition was stabilized.

A Coast Guard helicopter and boats, along with a Harris County dive team, are searching for the missing person.

The USCG thanked a Good Samaritan for helping to rescue the four rescued passengers.
