Albany man arrested after shooting on N. Pearl Street

ALBANY, NY (NEWS10)– Albany police arrested an Albany man believed to be the suspect in a shooting on North Pearl Street on Saturday. Police said Stanford Jones Jr., 20, was charged with first-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree illegal possession of a weapon and second-degree assault.

According to police, a shooting was reported in the 200 block of North Pearl Street at 6:10 p.m. on Friday, July 12. A 26-year-old man was found with a gunshot wound to the hand and was taken to Albany Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

During the investigation, police determined that the suspect fled the scene in a car after a physical altercation. Troy police arrested Jones and took him into custody after finding the vehicle he used to flee the scene on Congress Street in Troy. Jones was arraigned Saturday in Albany City Criminal Court.
